Quantilise

Cost benchmarking for QSs, developers and consultancies

Your data - Quantilised.

Every cost plan your practice has produced, in one private benchmark set, and straight into the deck.

Your figures flow into one dashboard, then export as PowerPoint slides.

01 The problem

Your data exists. You can't use it.

It's in workbooks, in structures only their authors remember.

  • Every question starts from scratch

One rate request, one afternoon lost to old cost plans.

  • The trend is invisible

Eleven schemes in a sector, and nobody can say how the split has moved.

  • No answer in the room

Not mid-pitch, and not when a client questions a rate.

02 Data capture

One template. Every cost plan in the same shape.

One row per cost plan snapshot, in a workbook we send you. It asks mostly for what's already in the cost plan.

  • It checks itself as you type

Each row reconciles its NRM1 element totals against the overall cost and flags what doesn't add up.

  • Fill it yourself, or send us the cost plans

Drop the filled template onto the dashboard and it's checked in your browser and again on our side before anything is saved. On Concierge, we fill it from your cost plans and you can still add or correct rows.

  • Snapshots, never overwritten

Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the same scheme are two rows, so the history stays. Ten schemes is enough to start.

03 The result

Your data - Quantilised.

Every row becomes a point in one private dashboard for the whole firm, rebased to the quarter you choose.

  • Where does this scheme sit?

Type the scheme you're pricing and it's ringed in every chart: 21% above the median of the projects you selected, 83rd percentile.

  • Four ways to read the cost book

£/m² across the portfolio, NRM1 element by element, £ per functional unit, and the same scheme stage by stage.

  • A method you can cite

Rebased on the ONS Construction Output Price Index to any published quarter from 2014 Q1. Nothing extrapolated.

  • Straight into the deck

Any chart or table exports to an editable PowerPoint file, built in your browser.

04 Our vision

The next deck we're building.

Every chart in Quantilise exports to an editable PowerPoint. This one is our roadmap.

  • The Benchmarking Club

Opt in and your rates join an anonymised pool. In return, you benchmark against every member firm's schemes, not just your own. Never named, never on by default.

  • Quantilise Estimating AI

A first-pass elemental estimate drafted from your own benchmark set, every figure traceable to the schemes behind it.

  • Built with the community

Tell us what your practice needs. The features firms ask for most are the ones we build next.

Optional extras

Not included as standard. Add either to any plan, only if you want it.

  • A template tailored to how your firm records cost
  • Rebasing on your own BCIS figures, if your firm licenses BCIS
How much work is the template, honestly?

One row per cost plan snapshot, asking mostly for what's already in the cost plan: sector, stage, region, GIA, base date and NRM1 element totals, plus a functional unit where one applies. Ten schemes is enough to be useful.

We already benchmark in a spreadsheet. Why change?

Keep it for recording cost plans. What Quantilise removes is the admin around the benchmark itself: extending lookups, updating index tables each quarter, rebuilding pivots, managing copies. In Quantilise every snapshot is one row, tagged, reconciled and rebased automatically, and the whole firm works from one set.

Our cost plans aren't in NRM1. Does that rule us out?

No. Many UK cost plans map onto NRM1, and where yours doesn't, we map it with you.

Who else can see our projects?

Nobody outside your firm. There's no shared pool and no cross-client comparison. The Benchmarking Club on our roadmap will be strictly opt-in and anonymised, and nothing joins it by default.

How do people sign in?

With one access code that belongs to your firm. We store only a one-way hash of it, never the code itself. It's one shared code per company, with no limit on how many people are signed in at once, and every read and write is scoped to your firm from your signed session, never from the web address.

Is our data inside the software?

No. Project names, notes and cost breakdowns are read from your company's own storage when you load the page, never compiled into the application other clients download. Scheme names are held apart from the figures, and an Anonymise switch hides them on screen.

Can we get our data back out?

Yes. Tables export to CSV, charts and tables export to PowerPoint, and when you leave we return your dataset and delete it, as the customer agreement sets out.

What's the difference between BCIS and Quantilise?

BCIS is market data: what schemes across the industry have cost. Quantilise is your own practice's data: every cost plan your firm has produced. They answer different questions, so they work together, not against each other. If your firm licenses BCIS, we can rebase on your BCIS figures instead, where your licence allows.

Do we need a BCIS licence?

No. Rebasing runs on published ONS data under the Open Government Licence. BCIS is a tender price index, so it tracks tender pricing more closely than an output price index. If your firm licenses it, we can rebase on your BCIS figures instead, where your licence allows.

What about schemes we priced years ago?

Those are the valuable ones. Anything from 2014 Q1 onward can be rebased to a current quarter; older schemes stay in the set, shown as tendered and flagged.

07 Contact

Twenty minutes, and we'll use your kind of work.

We'll walk through the dashboard with a benchmark set that looks like your schemes, and show you exactly what the template asks for. No slides.

Or write to hello@quantilise.net. The demo is a fabricated portfolio of UK schemes, no sign-up.
